For the past 35 years I have worked as a counsellor, health educator, researcher and trainer in the NHS and the not for profit sector, in a variety of health and social wellbeing roles.
I decided to train as a hypnotherapist after experiencing how hypnotherapy helped me change my life. I found the therapy motivating, supportive and nurturing, giving me the confidence to take risks and make the changes I dreamed about. I then decided I would love to help others in the way I had benefited.
I trained at the prestigious Clifton Practice in Bristol in solution- focused hypnotherapy, which I chose because of its emphasis on getting the best out of life. This type of hypnotherapy helps us to visualise what we want, rather than what we don't want and to set small achievable goals to work towards.
I work with all issues but have particular experience of weight management, loss and bereavement, relationship issues, assertiveness and confidence-building, reproductive health and parenting. In addition to my practices in Stroud and Cirencester I work for The Haven Breast Cancer Support Centre in Worcester Hospital providing hypnotherapy to people affected by breast cancer.
I am a founder member of the Stroud Hypnotherapy Practice, a local centre of excellence for hypnotherapy, and work in both Stroud and Cirencester, from The Cotswold Health Centre in Stroud and The Cirencester Hypnotherapy and Health Centre.
I am fully insured and a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), the National Council for Hypnotherapy. and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
I live in Stroud and am a mum and a step-mum to two boys.
